Boerne Parks Association was founded in 2020 by a group of friends and long-time Boerne residents in effort to help increase the number and quality of greenspaces and parks in the Boerne area. We hope our membership and support will grow, along with our impact on the local community.

 

Meet our Board

  • Trace Klein

    Trace Klein, president of Boerne Parks Association, moved to Boerne with his family in 1997 and graduated from Boerne High School in 2005. After attending the University of Texas at Austin and working in Dallas for more than 10-years, Trace and his wife moved back to Boerne to raise their children in a small(er) town, closer to family. Trace and his wife, along with their elementary-aged children in BISD, love the people and places that make Boerne the unique town that it is. Trace has always loved nature and the outdoors and is excited to help Boerne Parks Association create more green spaces in and around Boerne.

  • Heather Scott Huebner

    Heather Scott Huebner moved to Boerne in 1982 and graduated from Boerne High School in 1998. After graduating Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design and a Master’s degree in Land Economics and Real Estate, she married her high school sweetheart, Jeff Huebner. Heather briefly worked in the commercial appraisal and oil and gas industries in San Antonio. She then moved to Lakeland, Florida and worked in urban development. Currently, Heather owns Huebner Design Company, a full-service interior design company that works with homeowners and local contractors. Jeff and Heather’s oldest son attends Geneva School of Boerne and their younger two children are in BISD. Jeff and Heather love raising their boys in their hometown and the opportunities it provides for them.

  • Laura Srp

    Laura Srp and her family have lived in Boerne since the early 1990s. Laura graduated from Boerne High School in 2003. She and her husband, Matt, have five children who attend Boerne public schools, where Laura is very involved with BISD and the Boerne Education Foundation. She and her family love calling Boerne home. Laura is excited to promote more community spaces where people can come together.

  • Nikki Peterson

    Nikki Peterson and her husband, Josh, were high school sweethearts at Boerne High School. Now they are raising three children in downtown Boerne. Nikki has been a local family photographer for 11-years. She and her family enjoy the beauty of the hill country. Nikki hopes to continue supporting projects that will preserve it for future generations.

  • Jessica Steubing

    Jessica Steubing, along with her husband Dru and their three children, have lived in Boerne for more than 20-years. Jessica is a graduate of Baylor University and is the owner of a local wedding and event venue. She loves the small town feel of Boerne and is excited to help create more parks and green spaces while maintaining Boerne’s rich history and quaint aesthetics.
